The Gate Keeper

A painting on wood I did this weekend, just under twelve by twelve I think. This is Maive. She's a gateway creature. When I originally came across her in a dream, she was guarding the gate to my subconscious. She told me by way of telepathic impressions [no words] in a very even and mellow manner [surprising I know, considering how she looks], that I wasn't ready to pass through. I had the very distinct impression that challenging the judgement would be unpleasant. With a mouth full of sharky teeth you can't see, and a supernatural strength, I imagine it wouldn't end well. Anyhow, she's not a bad beasty, just an eerie one. Acrylic paints. All drawn and painted by hand. I'm pretty happy with this painting, considering I haven't painted anything really in a long time.
